This position demands a highly skilled and disciplined driver capable of managing long haul trips efficiently while upholding the highest safety and compliance standards. Safely operate a tractor-trailer over assigned long-haul routes to meet delivery schedules. Inspect vehicle for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules as per dispatch instructions. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and ensure each load is secure. Collect and verify delivery instructions, handling documentation like bills of lading and logs. Report defects, accidents, or violations and maintain a clean driving record.
