Position Summary: The Director of Operations is a key member of the Executive Leadership team, responsible for driving operational performance across production, warehousing, supply chain, and purchasing. This role will also lead high-level strategic initiatives, including systems implementation and cross-functional improvement projects, to support scalable growth and long-term business success. This position operates within the automotive and motorcycle aftermarket industries, focusing on high-performance suspension components, including shock absorbers, racing measurement systems, and accessories. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of operational discipline, strategic thinking, and a hands-on leadership style. Reports to: For responsibilities related to business operations in Indiana, this position reports to the Executive Vice President-Racing Brands. For responsibilities related to our business operations outside of Indiana, this position reports to the President. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Production Management Lead production operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and meeting engineering specifications for advanced suspension and motorsport products. Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in all manufacturing processes. Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, and equipment maintenance. Warehousing & Logistics Manage warehousing operations including inventory control, fulfillment, and shipping/receiving. Optimize warehouse layout and flow to improve order accuracy, turnaround time, and scalability. Maintain safety standards and compliance across all warehouse functions. Purchasing & Supply Chain Direct the purchasing function to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components. Strengthen supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and drive cost savings. Enhance supply chain resilience and forecasting to meet the needs of a global aftermarket customer base. Stay current on economic indicators that may impact the purchasing strategy. Human Resources Provide vision and leadership for HR functions including organizational design, talent management, and workforce planning. Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and accountability across all teams. Strategic Projects & Systems Implementation Lead major operational initiatives, which may include the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring successful adoption across all departments. Drive process digitization and use of technology to support better decision-making, visibility, and operational efficiency. Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with executive leadership and other business units on strategic improvement projects, product and customer rationalization, and efficiency optimization. Identify and execute high-impact initiatives that streamline operations and align with business goals. Participate in strategic planning and business reviews to support growth and innovation. Travel Travel occasionally to other company locations, suppliers, or key partners to support alignment, project execution, and operational audits. Leadership & Strategy Serve as a key advisor to the President on operational matters and strategic planning such as new business acquisitions, and organizational leadership. Build and lead a high-performing operations team; develop talent and succession plans. Develop and manage operating budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics for all departments. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred). 10 years of progressive operational leadership, ideally within automotive aftermarket or manufacturing environments. Proven success overseeing production, logistics, supply chain, HR, and major system implementations. Familiarity with motorsports, racing markets, or high-performance product environments strongly preferred. Proficiency in ERP systems and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
