A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently with the highest levels of integrity. The position reports to the site Materials Planning Manager and is a key function in the Materials organization. Job Description: - Work directly with Vendor contacts to ensure material is planned, transported, and delivered to meet schedule requirements
- Utilize material planning systems and tools to plan requirements, communicate schedule, generate reports, and maintain data
- Monitor forecasts to balance material availability, inventory, and cost
- Lead problem resolution discussions with Suppliers, Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, Production Scheduling and Operations to resolve and improve supply chain issues
- Develop improvement plans where gaps in supplier performance are recognized
Reconcile variances between material releases, receipts, and packing slips - Participate in Continuous Improvement and Process Excellence culture to build a more robust Inbound Supply Chain
- Identify Cost Savings opportunities in support of company targets
- Lead Load and Capacity assessments at high risk vendors to validate their ability to deliver
- Evaluates supplier lead times and create or maintain purchase orders respective of supplier lead times and constraints
- Cycle count production material on the manufacturing operations floor
- Periodically cover Material Handling Supervisor responsibilities
Required Qualifications: - Associates Degree
- 3+ years of experience with Material Planning OR Supply Chain
