About this role: Responsibility of planning outbound shipments using a Transportation Management System (TMS), tendering freight to contracted carriers, and managing urgent shipping requests. The ideal candidate will proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, set delivery appointments based on capacity and transit time, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost and performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Daily transportation planning consolidation and building of outbound shipments via TMS to ensure on-time delivery at the lowest reasonable cost.
- Tendering and acceptance of all shipments daily via contracted Truckload, Intermodal, LTL, Small Parcel, and Flatbed transportation providers.
- Manage daily hot requests to ensure prioritized for planning and transmitted to the warehouse to ensure on-time delivery.
- Set delivery appointments to ensure the earliest possible delivery based on DC capacity and provider transit time.
- Manage timely and accurate communications (Email, Phone, etc.) to internal and external customers.
- Provide daily shipment plans to Distribution Centers based on forecast and capability.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that reduce delivered costs while improving on-time delivery.
- Provide EOD status report to leadership measuring daily performance as well as opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or planning
