We are looking for a motivated Wastewater Treatment Operator for our East Chicago, IN facility who collects non-hazardous wastewater samples, using safe operating procedures. Inspect, monitor, and conduct preventative maintenance of equipment. Implement various water treatments and processes. Document and update data. Schedule - Monday to Friday 2pm-10pm and some weekends as needed. Responsibilities - Collects non-hazardous wastewater samples by following proper procedures
- Familiar with the use & calibration of Ph meters
- Minor pipe fitting
- Writing HOTWORKS and JSB permits
- Monitor biological treatment Micro-organisms(BUGS) and press out older micro-organisms with belt press
- Performs routine lab process tests to optimize treatment processes throughout the wastewater plant
- Accurately monitor and record data readings on WWT log sheets, computer WWT spread sheets, maintenance records and safety reports
- Assists WWT supervisor & Shift supervisors with the interpretation of performance data to adjust process control applications
- Controls the operation, monitoring, and inspection of process equipment within the WWT plant including; pumps and motors, screens, chemical pumps, centrifigal blowers, DAF, Oil water separator and associated equipment
- Ensures process operations are continuously monitored for performance within specifications
- Maintains data for required reports for internal regulatory agencies, and is accessible for all stakeholders
- Operate and monitor WWT plant equipment and processes according to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on refinery plant equipment and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
- Monitor and maintain process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations, to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and control WWT plant emissions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Communicate with other plant personnel and management to coordinate activities and ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Participate in training and development programs to maintain and improve skills. Monitor Boilers, softeners & perform hardness and conductivity test
