Job Purpose The purpose of the Industrial Engineer is to apply engineering principles and methods withing a manufacturing setting to optimize systems and processes. The main goal is to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall performance within our Ft Wayne, IN manufacturing facility. Job Duties and Responsibilities Under minimal supervision, - Make complex analyses of current and proposed methods and layouts for manufacturing/assembly processes and equipment within the facility.
- Establish standards based on observation, AviX, standard elemental data, motion economy, ergonomics and OSHA regulations.
- Complete complex cost estimates for continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain and audit production cycle time database for KPI system and Finance Cost Model.
- Use lean tools including VSM, PFEP and MIF to identify waste and other OFIs. Plan and help execute the necessary actions towards true North.
- The use of computers as well as the development of spreadsheets, CAD drawings and other tools or systems is required in most aspects of the job.
- Read and interpret full range of manufacturing/engineering documents.
- Communicate with operators and all levels of management, promoting the culture of continuous improvement.
- Partner with customers in Operations and elsewhere to establish continuous improvement initiatives for implementation.
- Perform other assigned duties incidental to the occupation.
