It is expected that these standards be met by following Praxair Standard practices in all aspects of this job. This role reports directly to the Product Line Manager.Requirements

• Experienced in reading, understanding, and using Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMI's), Job-Safety Analysis' (JSA), and melt production schedule to accomplish daily production tasks.
• Displays understanding and knowledge regarding molten metal operations such as atomization, foundry, casting or smelting experience.
• Capable of performing basic math including percentages to calculate and weigh out heats.
• Capable of completing minor and routine repairs or maintenance adjustments on production equipment using hand tools. Mechanical aptitude and experience is a plus.
• Performs simple, in-process quality tests to determine material status.
• Displays moderate ability to function within database management tools such as Oracle, eAM, etc. using a computer.
• Proven track record with ability to spot process improvement ideas and implement solutions.
• Displays good communication skills to be able to communicate between operations, engineering, quality departments.
• Manages own daily workflow requirements to meet production schedule. Self-motivating is a must have skillset.
• Ability to complete forklift certification within first 30 days of employment
• Support current and new safety initiatives/policies
• Maintain equipment and housekeeping within work environment
• Ability to cross-train in other departments.Qualifications
  • Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years' manufacturing experience required. Preferred experience with molten metal is a plus
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and understand work instructions as well as technical specifications
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Must be able to operate fork truck, electric hoist, and overhead crane
  • Capable of lifting to 40lbs
