Jellison Living Learning Center (JLLC), formerly the Kelley Living Learning Center, serves as the only LLC for Kelley School of Business track first-year students at IU. The JLLC is part of the Student Communities division in the academic unit of the Kelley Undergraduate Program. Kelley is proud to be the #8-ranked undergraduate business program by U.News (2023).
Responsible for the overall management of the JLLC, promoting an environment conducive to academic, personal, and professional success for students.
Develops and implements a strategic vision for the JLLC that empowers and enables staff (professional, support, and student leaders) to pursue successful outcomes for JLLC students.
In addition to operational leadership of the JLLC and recruitment/training/ supervision of staff.
Serves as the key liaison to the JLLC course committee (with administrative oversight of BUS-X 180 and X 190 courses).
Interfaces with key stakeholders in the Kelley School, Housing & Residential Life, and other IU Bloomington campus partners, including IU Admissions, First Year Experience, Student Care Team, and Dean of Students office.
Serves as part of the Kelley Undergraduate Student Communities Directors team.
Represents the JLLC at IU LLC/Thematic Community functions, and assist with other duties in the Undergraduate Program as assigned. While core duties will be executed during standard workdays and hours, the Director will be required to be on-site at the JLLC and

Reports to the Senior Director of Student Communities for the Kelley Undergraduate Program.
Provides day-to-day operational management of student life staff.
Establishes short-term operational objectives.
Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve student life operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.

Bachelor's degree in education, public affairs, public health, social work, counseling, or related field

Master's degree in higher education student affairs or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE
2 years in student life, higher education student affairs, or related field

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
In addition to typical office work, the Director will engage in medium moving requirements, including moving boxes of supplies for programs, 25-50 pound boxes for orientation, facilitating food service, and setting furniture for special events.
Travel several evenings and weekends each academic year (orientation, leadership development, recruitment, and student trips).
