Job SummaryCenterPoint Energy is looking for a Power Generation Operation Technology Specialist to join our Power Generation Industrial Controls Team, located in Evansville, IN.. You will have the ability to: ensure high reliability of workstations, servers, network equipment and peripherals within CenterPoint Energy - Power Generation's ICS environment. Essential Functions - Under general direction, the primary role of the position will consist of maintaining Power Generation's asset management, log management, and vulnerability management suite of tools.
- The position will be responsible for identifying deficiencies in cyber security posture and develop remediation plans to improve.
- Position will also monitor industry forums for current security vulnerabilities, recommend appropriate responses with team, and assist with remediation steps.
- Secondary responsibilities may include tasks such as: patch management, endpoint protection, removable media malware protection support, backup and recovery systems management, resolving communication conflicts, and continued exploration, testing, and implementation of cybersecurity advancements.
- The position will be responsible for maintaining NERC compliance pertaining to the Power Generation ICS environment.
- The specialist will oversee technology that measures, tracks, and provides evidence in support of applicable NERC regulations.
- Key Customers include operational, engineering, and maintenance staff for steam, gas, and renewable sites, Electric Reliability Compliance (ERC) dept., IT Security, Corporate IT, Corporate Security, and Governance and Risk department. Education Description
- Associate degree with a concentration in fields such as cybersecurity or computer science Experience
- 2+ years of on-the-job experience relating to cybersecurity or computer science
- Knowledge of network components, network topology, and device configuration
- Switches, firewalls, routers, etc.
- Employee must have a valid driver's license and will be required to travel between business locations. A corporate vehicle may be assigned to this position to support travel between site locations.
