Apply today for our Registered Nurse RN PACU Recovery opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsThe PACU RN manages the nursing care of patients recovering from Endoscopy, Surgical, Cath Lab, and Radiology procedures and assists anesthesia providers with Regional Blocks in accordance with ASPAN and AORN Perioperataive Standards and Recommended Practices and follows the established Policies set by Terre Haute Regional Hospital Healthcare Organization.What will you do in this role: - Provides age and culturally appropriate post procedure patient care for General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ear/Nose/Throat Surgery, Cataract Surgery, Podiatric Surgery, Endoscopic procedures, Pain Management Procedure, Cardiac Catheterization Procedure, Cardiac Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urological Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecological Surgery
- Assesses and assists with patient's discharge planning needs with appropriate healthcare team
- Monitors, records, communicates and updates appropriately the patient condition to healthcare team
- Documents care accurately and completely in Meditech
- Assists anesthesia providers with Regional Blocks on surgical patients in PACU
- Actively instructs and educates patients and their families on the Plan of Care and discharge instructions for the all procedures performed
- Knows and performs techniques for specimens collection, labeling, ordering, and documenting
- Performs blood transfusion procedure
- Assists with the flow of surgery schedule -
- Maintains supply levels to insure efficiency of Preparation of Out Patients -
- Assists anesthesia provider with induction, intubation, extubation, line insertion as needed
- Orients and mentors new staff members and students
