Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for System Safety Engineer Position type: Full-time contract, Potential Contract to HireDuration: 12+ monthsLocation: Indianapolis INAs a System Safety Engineer, you will:Primary Responsibilities:Systems Safety Engineering is part of Systems Engineering that complements the technical activities required to deliver a project. It deals with engineering that influences the systems' design and architecture in terms of performance, safety, supportability, testability, and cost consideration throughout the lifecycle of the product. Safety Engineering applies methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software, hardware, and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams. The Safety Engineering function supports systems engineering activities including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. As such, Systems Safety Engineers interface with the other engineering disciplines and logistics engineering functions to ensure integration and continuity in the design and development process.The Ideal candidate will have: - Experience with DoD System Safety Programs, Army experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel.
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (including Agile and/or Waterfall)
- Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system safety engineering.
- Knowledge of AR 385-10, Army System Safety Management Guide, MIL-HDBK-454, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-1425, AMCOM 385-17, and Human Systems Integration, SAE 6906
- Experience Software System Safety Technical Review Panels (SSSTRP) or Software Materiel Release activities.
- Experience developing proposals and basis of estimates.
- Experience in other Systems Specialty areas such as Reliability, Human Factors, etc. Education Requirements:
