Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Alton, IL Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Alton, IL • Service Setting: Emergency Department • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 03/01/2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a – 6p and 6p– 6a; 12hr shifts COVERAGE DATES • March 1, 2026 – ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult and pediatric population • Patient Volume/Census: 25,000 annual ED volume • Admissions: Yes • Case Mix: Full-spectrum emergency medicine, including pediatrics and stroke care FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 16-bed ED with telemetry monitoring • Office Equipment Available: Telemetry monitoring • Specialty Backup Available: State-approved pediatrics; Certified Stroke Center • Support Staff Available: 14 hours daily NP/PA support PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Full-spectrum emergency medicine procedures • Pediatric emergency care • Stroke management in accordance with Certified Stroke Center guidelines JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Illinois License • BC/BE; ABEM preferred • DEA required • CSL required • BLS, ACLS, PALS, certifications • Other Qualifications: recent ED experience, comfort with treating alll ages, Experience in stroke response DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical services to adult and pediatric patients • Manage patient care in a 16-bed emergency department • Deliver 24-hour physician coverage in assigned shifts • Work collaboratively with NP/PA support staff • Ensure adherence to standards required for state-approved pediatrics and Certified Stroke Center More...
