Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide advanced nursing care in an acute inpatient Stepdown unit specializing in progressive cardiac and medical conditions. This contract role supports a 341-bed hospital's Progressive Care Unit (PCU), delivering expert monitoring and interventions for patients with complex cardiac diagnoses and other acute medical needs. Key Responsibilities: Manage patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA/stent care, and other cardiac-related conditions requiring telemetry monitoring. Administer and titrate inotropic, vasodilator, antiarrhythmic, and antiplatelet drips. Provide vigilant observation for patients on Bipap/CPAP, insulin drips, and those undergoing complex procedures such as electrical cardioversion and carotid surgery. Collaborate with respiratory and anesthesia teams available 24/7 for specialized support. Adhere to clinical protocols, including ACLS and telemetry practices. Document thoroughly using the EPIC system and manage medication administration through the MAK system. Participate in a resource float team, supporting appropriate units as needed. Qualifications and Experience: Valid RN license with at least 1 year of clinical experience, including minimum 1 year in a Stepdown or progressive care setting. Current BLS and ACLS certification required. Comfortable working within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1. Experience with telemetry, cardiac drips, and acute inpatient care preferred. Strong communication skills and professional appearance adhering to unit dress code (navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes).
