Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in stepdown care in Centralia, MO. This position involves working in a dynamic stepdown unit with a patient population requiring comprehensive nursing care including surgical, medical, and neurological cases. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from surgery or experiencing complex medical conditions. Manage vasoactive drip titration including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem. Perform line management tasks such as IV insertion, PICC/central line and vascular device care, dialysis fistula maintenance, and arterial line management. Utilize advanced cardiac skills to support patient care, including obtaining 12 Lead EKGs, sheath removal, and cardioversion/defibrillation. Deliver airway management including CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care. Handle orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and oncology equipment like epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vacs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Provide float support across the unit as required. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. Proven experience in stepdown nursing and vascular access management. Proficiency with bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCDs, bipaps, cpaps, optiflows, vapotherms, and airvos. Comfortable managing complex drips and advanced monitoring. Strong clinical judgment and excellent critical thinking skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
