Job Description The Senior Department Financial Specialist will be responsible for enabling Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) solutions delivery through effective execution of departmental procurement and budget management processes. This role will partner with key stakeholders, leadership, and cross-functional teams to provide consulting, support, and direction in areas associated with the planning, procurement, provisioning, and financial management of information security solutions. They are expected to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure financial targets are met, drive cost optimization opportunities, and contribute to the improvement of operational practices and processes. Responsibilities: Partner withkeystakeholders to understand specific business processes andobjectives, supporting short and long-term strategic planning, solution discovery, and vendor relationship management. Lead procurement processes in collaboration with finance and procurement partners, ensuring purchasing activities flow cleanly and support budgetary tracking and reporting. Manage the functional and project capital/expenses, including Domain-specific enhancement budget management, consistently executing against financial targets. Drive operational excellence and standards for monthly project expense LBEs (Latest Best Estimates), annual Capital Plan andLong-Range Planning (LRP)activities. Ensure resources are available to meet the long-range operational demands, includingappropriate functionaland project capital/expense budget and identification of opportunities for cost avoidance and cost reductions. Monitor andreportprogram and project cost performance; prepare monthly meeting presentations with cross-functional partners andassistin communicating status toleadership, governanceteamsand colleagues. Effectivelyleverageestablished PPM practices and tools (e.g., Clarity, Jira). Establish andmaintainstrategic working relationshipswithkey internal andexternal partners. Responsible for compliance with all applicable AbbVie Corporate (e.g., Finance,Purchasing, OEC, Legal),andIT departmentpolicies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree ina business or financial fieldand6 years experienceOR Master's Degree and5 years experienceOR PhD and0years experience. Minimum of4years of experience inbusiness operations management,project management, business systems analysis,financialmanagement,or PMO administration. Experienceoperatingwithincomplex procurement processes to drive efficient purchasing and clear alignment with budgetary requirements. Proven ability to design impactful financial reporting for both technical and non-technicalcustomersincluding executive audiences. Solid experience infinancial managementas well as attention to detail and ability to adequately forecast (i.e., cost estimation) and adjust accordingly. Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills and multi-faceted operational skills. Proven ability toestablishand maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners. Demonstrated ability to articulate and negotiate projects and priorities across functions and/or organizations, proven experience in situations of conflict resolution, problemsolvingand crisis management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely present financial information to a variety of audiences, includingexecutiveleadership and stakeholders. Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence without authority, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Preferred: The ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem solve, scope financial requirements, and prioritize. Vendor contracting/strategy experience. Understanding ofIT or Information Security concepts, terminology, and operations. Experience supportingbusiness orfinancial operations for an IT or Information Security department. Experience with technical writing and process documentation. Experience working with enterprise financial systems and toolssuch as SAP. Experience working withglobally distributedstakeholders and customers.
