Job Title: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: WI-DSPS radiographer license required Certifications: ARRT Radiography registration required ARRT Computed Tomography registration required Approved CPR or BLS certification required Must-Have: - ARRT Certified in CT - IV skills preferred Description: This position is Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with an evening, night, and weekend call rotation. The technologist will operate as a multi-modality tech performing CT and X-ray procedures. The role requires performing CT, X-ray, Fluoroscopy, and C-arm procedures. The technologist may be required to rotate weekends and take call as needed. The technologist administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Alternating shifts, weekends, holidays, and taking call may be necessary. Flexibility in hours and overtime may be required to provide quality patient care. The technologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested. Depending on the assigned site, radiographer job duties may also be required. The technologist will perform diagnostic CT procedures and, if assigned radiographer job duties, perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams. The technologist will corroborate the patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring documentation is available for the radiologist. Preparing the patient for procedures involves providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. The technologist selects and operates imaging equipment and accessories to successfully perform procedures. Positioning the patient is essential to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient comfort. The technologist may need to immobilize the patient as necessary. Practicing aseptic technique is required as necessary. The technologist prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate for the procedures performed and starts and maintains intravenous access. Initiating basic life support action when necessary is part of the role. Providing patient education is also part of the job responsibilities. Input for supply and equipment decisions is expected. Maintaining control of inventory and supplies for the assigned area is also required. Practical instruction for students and partners may be provided. Observing universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers is essential.
