  Job Details
  • Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist with growing the IR program.
  • Work with current Radiology Technologist staff to develop competence in Interventional Radiology Procedures.
  • Assist IR staff in ultrasound and CT to provide excellent patient care to IR patients.
  • Make suggestions to refine processes and develop workflows related to Interventional Radiology procedures.
  • Administer contrast material according to physician's request via existing IV line.
  • Anticipate set-up and needs for invasive procedures.
  • Assist with inventory and supplies as needed.
  • Check for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
  • Compile pertinent clinical information such as lab and pathology.
  • Administer medication in compliance with scope of practice.
  • Document accurately and completely.
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide patient care including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Perform all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist.
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area.
  • Demonstrate competence in operation of imaging and related equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Function as scrub and preceptor during interventional radiology procedures.
  • Work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
  • Administer and withhold contrast and treatment as appropriate.
  • Assess patients for allergies.
  • Assist physician during interventional procedures.
    Job Requirements
    • Extensive Interventional Radiology (IR) experience required.
    • Experience as preceptor for IR Technologists.
    • Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately.
    • Demonstrates compassion and caring when dealing with others.
    • Manual dexterity to handle small supplies.
