Responsibilities Displays an understanding of general specimen collection guidelines - Collects urinalysis samples per federal protocol, using universal precautions (gloves, etc.).
- Packages samples for mailing via FedEx; calls Fed Ex to arrange for pickup.
- Recognizes a sample that is not acceptable for testing
- Refers to other staff or manual for correct collection and handling protocol
- Processes samples as directed by procedure or protocol
- Treats each patient with respect and dignity during the collection process
- Labels samples as per policy
- Verifies patient identity prior to collection a specimen
- Notifies appropriate chain when a sample is not obtained or not acceptable for testing
- Monitors supplies and notifies supervisor when supplies are getting low.Maintains documentation in compliance with organizational standards, Federal Probation requirements, Mental Health Codes, and licensure requirements that is complete, accurate, and timely.
