Description Champaign-Urbana Public Health District Health Educator I The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is a dedicated advocate for comprehensive sexual health education and women's care services, committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and informed community. We are seeking a full-time Health Educator I to assist with the delivery of comprehensive sexual health education programming for youth and to work to assure accessibility, availability, and quality of preventive and primary care for women in Champaign County. Responsibilities include: Comprehensive Sexual Health Education - Facilitate engaging, evidence-based sexual health education programs tailored to youth, including students, community groups, and healthcare professionals.
- Develop and deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive curricula covering topics such as sexual anatomy, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), consent, and healthy relationships.
- Collaborate with local schools, organizations, and healthcare providers to promote sexual health education, focusing on youth. Women's Preventive and Primary Care:
- Work to assure accessibility, availability, and quality of preventive and primary care services for women ages 18-44 in Champaign County.
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers and organizations to enhance and expand women's care services.
- Stay current on relevant research, guidelines, and trends in women's preventive and primary care to inform program content and delivery. Excellent communication and organizational skills, interest in working with youth, and ability to facilitate programming are essential. Candidates who are fluent in Spanish are highly desirable. CUPHD offers qualified bilingual employees additional compensation upon approval.
Requirements and Qualifications Option 1: - Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree (Community health, gender & women's studies, social work, etc preferred) Option 2:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, or associate's degree
