Overview Tyler Union is seeking a Forklift Operator-Order Selector for the New Lennox DC in Vineland, New Jersey. - Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc. has a century of success in manufacturing and selling ductile iron fittings, joint restraints, and valve boxes for the waterworks industry. - As a Forklift Operator/ Order selector, you will be responsible for moving products throughout the distribution center using RF technology. Position supervise and coordinate all departmental activities while leading accordingly to the McWane Way. All candidates offered employment must submit to a drug screen, physical, and background check. - - Responsibilities - Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program. - Advise management of any deviations from this program.
- Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using various types of forklifts or other power equipment 80% of specified shift.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded.
- Inspect each pallet for proper quantities, items, and lot codes (as applicable) damages and follow any special instructions or additional documentation.
- Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage, report variances, as necessary.
- Load, unload, pick, put away, consolidate, stack and stage products and materials using a forklift.
- Safely load/unload trailers ensuring weight distribution, load integrity, and all shipping instructions are followed.
- Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Forklift operators must achieve expected production requirements while maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to management. Identify process improvements.
- Participate in all assigned training programs and adhere to all guidelines.
- Demonstrate a commitment to process excellence.
- Ability to work overtime with little to no notice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - 2+ years of forklift operations experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, or military environment preferred.
- High school diploma is required.
- One to three years of related on-the-job experience required.
- Experience with RF devices.
- Knowledge of UPS World Ship or Fed Ex ground
