Primary Role
Provides a combination of leadership, analytical and/or technical support pertaining to operations and production for the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Analyzes and evaluates reports and/or prepare variances related to specific department work processes which may include but are not limited to: business systems, regulatory requirements, budgets, capital expenditures, work orders, departmental and/or organizational performance, etc. Identify different types of data that needs tracking to improve business performance.
- Shape the solution tactics and strategies by working closely with the business teams in determining alternatives for addressing critical business challenges.
- Ensure processes are followed by monitoring reports as well as looking for ways to improve process within the state. This is to increase performance management and quality improvement capacity of the organization in order to ensure that all objectives are attained. (Can include project management, collaboration with field, roundtables etc.) Drive efforts to improve internal processes and associated results.
- Interacts with internal/external customers and team members as a second level resource for various departmental or functional issues which maybe related to water supply, regulatory issues, field operations, etc.
- Provide backup supervision to field and production employees as needed.
- Lead larger more complex projects or roll outs in ways of collecting data from the field, managing meetings, meeting deadlines, giving report outs, as well as providing or scheduling training.
- Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment. Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes.
Knowledge/Skills
- Thorough knowledge of standard business practices and principles, including intermediate accounting and budgeting
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications including
- MSWord, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and email management systems (MS Outlook)
- Knowledge of specific systems such as SAP preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated organization and administrative skills
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize tasks
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Experience/Education
- Bachelors degree in business, finance or accounting or engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in accounting, water distribution and/or wastewater collection system operations, and water and/or wastewater plants/production environment, reporting and analytics, preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Limited within the state
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a background check.
