Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Meridian, ID Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,622 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Meridian, Idaho, 83642! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Women's Services - Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable, Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: L&D, postpartum, and circulating experience required; triage experience strongly preferred. Description: The unit has 10 Labor and Delivery beds. There are 2 operating rooms for C-sections. Registered Nurses will circulate in the operating rooms. The unit has 4 triage beds and 10 postpartum beds. There are about 120 births per month on average. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios, primarily 1:1 in Labor and Delivery and 1:6 couple care in postpartum. Common diagnoses include laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, elective and medical inductions of labor, stable antepartum patients, postpartum patients, and well newborns. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips, primarily Pitocin per protocol, magnesium, and occasionally insulin. A Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse, and House Supervisor are present on each shift. Charge Nurses and Resource Nurses do not have patient assignments. CNA support is available on the floor 4-5 days and nights per week. There is a unit clerk available 24/7. OB hospitalists are available 24/7, with midwives on call. Neonatal Nurse Practitioners are on site 24/7, and a Neonatologist is available on call within 15 minutes. Anesthesia coverage includes CRNAs available 24/7. The unit uses a GE Connect EFM system. Shifts are scheduled as 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM. Staff cannot work more than five shifts in a row per hospital policy. Weekend and holiday requirements are based on unit needs. There are no call or standby requirements. Traveling nurses may be required to float to similar units within a 20-minute radius. Notice is given prior to the shift for floating, though true floating to separate locations is rare. Scrubs in blue are provided for the unit.
