Simplot Company is a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.SummaryThe lab technician (QA/QC) will be responsible for routine laboratory analysis required in the laboratory by conducting a wide range of test on fertilizer products and related materials. Lab technicians work within a team environment but also may be required to work in the lab as a single point of contact. The lab technician team supports the Don Plant with 24/7 laboratory coverage. ----Key Responsibilities - Analyzes the quality of fertilizer products, raw materials, and intermediate process control streams by weighing, preparing, measuring, calculating, and passing off on data taken from samples using standard methods of analysis.
- Use of laboratory equipment including P2O5 auto analyzers, ICP-OES for metals analysis, automated titrators, NH3-N using rapid distillation, grinding mill, pH meter.
- Verifies test results using trending and standard reference materials. Reports test results after verification.
- Use of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample login, capturing test data and results, and creating lab reports including COAs.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
- Prepares chemical solutions, standards and reagents for laboratory quality control and plant operators.
- Analyze water samples for regulatory requirements.----
- Keeps work area clean, safe, and organized by cleaning glassware, counters, and surfaces.
