This role includes troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This person provides direction for effective execution of maintenance activity on all machinery and equipment throughout the plant and office facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic is also responsible for the optimum utilization of available resources such as manpower, equipment, time, etc. This person must be responsible for decisions, actions and failures; must establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results. In addition, the maintenance mechanic must partner with others to get work done and work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.Key Responsibilities General maintenance of mining equipment with emphasis on mechanical repairs Normally works with others of lesser, equal or higher knowledge and or experience, however, may work alone while performing welding tasks, trouble shooting, analysis, adjustment, calibration, inspection, teardown, parts cleaning, and other assigned tasks Pre-shift inspections Work Safely Follow Safety Rules Understand and execute all of the tasks in the task training documentation Clean shop Mechanical repairs with limited supervision Minor and major equipment repairTypical Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Relevant Experience 3+ years related experience and/or training Preferred: Experience with heavy mining equipment, light duty vehicles and medium duty trucks.Required Certifications Valid driver license or equivalentOther InformationSchedule:Du-Pont (12hr. shifts, alternating on nights and weekends.
