Job Description This role is for someone who takes pride in helping others move better — and understands that great care starts with a well-run clinic. Big Island Physical Therapy is hiring a Clinical Assistant to support our Physical Therapists during traditional PT sessions and MedFit appointments , while helping maintain a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in: Healthcare, physical therapy, kinesiology, or exercise science Gaining hands-on clinical experience Working with a team that values quality, teamwork, and patient outcomes What You’ll Do Assist Physical Therapists and PTAs during patient treatment sessions Set up and break down treatment areas and exercise stations Guide patients through prescribed exercises under PT direction Support MedFit appointments , including: Equipment setup Monitoring basic vitals as directed (BP, HR, RPE) Ensuring patient safety during exercise sessions Maintain clinic cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day Clean and disinfect equipment, tables, and high-touch surfaces Stock supplies and assist with general clinic organization Communicate clearly with therapists and front desk staff to keep patient flow smooth Who We’re Looking For Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Comfortable working on your feet and assisting with physical tasks Friendly, professional, and able to build rapport with patients Coachable and able to follow clinical direction Team-oriented with a strong work ethic Interest in healthcare, physical therapy, fitness, or wellness is a plus Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Previous experience in a clinic, gym, or healthcare setting is helpful but not required Ability to lift, push, and move equipment safely Strong communication and organizational skills About Big Island Physical Therapy Big Island Physical Therapy is owned and operated by Shauna Russell, DPT, MBA and has served Hawaiʻi communities since 2009.
