  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and cordial behavior.
  • Command of the English language, written and verbal
  • Good vision, whether natural or with corrective lenses
  • Good hearing and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to operate a calculator.
  • Controls all revenues received and dispersed.
  • Maintains adequate internal control to safeguard the assets of the hotel.
  • Supervises the financial department, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general accounting, general cashiers, and night auditors.
  • Plans and implements accounting procedures and systems.
  • Assists in preparing the financial analysis of operations.
  • Assists in preparing reports outlining the hotel's financial position in areas of income, expense and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Maintains files of all contracts, payroll, etc.
  • Hires, trains, coaches and counsels, disciplines, and develops employees under his/her supervision.
  • Completes special assignments as requested.
  • Assists in preparing accounting analysis as directed by HHMG or the General Manager.
  • Performs all other related duties as directed by the General Manager and/or corporate accounting.

  • Assists in preparing the financial analysis of operations.

  • Assists in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Month End close, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations.
  • The ability to produce high quality work in a consistent and reliable manner, in support of Hyatt's standards and processes.
  • The ability to identify priorities, solve problems, produce desired results and be accountable for commitments.
  • The ability to build relationships within and across functions, balance individual and team goals, respect others and value different perspectives.
  • The ability to listen actively and identify appropriate messages and delivery methods to effectively influence others.
  • The ability to initiate action, make decisions, adapt, drive change, use resources efficiently and solve problems quickly, creatively, and practically.
  • The ability to identify needs, shape actions and add value to relationships based on a central focus of customer satisfaction.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • A minimum of four years' experience in the accounting field or related job experience is desired.
  • College Degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Must be computer literate with a knowledge of Word and Excel. Desired Skills/Experience
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
    • 4 years or more of progressive hotel Accounting Management experience (typically with Hyatt)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
    • Possess a courteous, friendly, and professional manner. -
    • Independent thinker and a 'quick study'.
    • Good team player.
    • Willingness to go the extra mile.
    • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
    • Must be punctual with regular and reliable attendance. Essential Physical Abilities
      • Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
      • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, bending, and stooping.
