Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient care preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (within 180 days) TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course (within 18 months) ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 180 days) Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and speak English. Description: The RN Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The RN practices in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and other leaders. This role is governed through a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice. RN competencies are derived from this model and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses in Emergency Services must be licensed and knowledgeable. They uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. The RN implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards set forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, the RN supports service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities: Performs the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
