Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. This contract position offers the chance to provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a supportive, family-oriented unit setting. Key Responsibilities: Manage patient care in a Progressive Care Unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, occasionally 1:5 based on acuity Provide care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, and more Utilize clinical expertise in tracheostomy care, cardiac drip management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube care, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management Collaborate closely with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, RT team, hospitalists, and intensivists to ensure comprehensive patient care Employ EPIC EMR system and advanced monitoring technology such as Philips monitors and Alaris IV pumps Float within the designated regional facilities as needed, with travel time compensated during shifts Qualifications: Current RN licensure with at least 18 months of Progressive Care Unit experience Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Comfortable interpreting telemetry and managing multiple complex patients simultaneously Willingness to float to various regional facilities within scope of practice Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, family-oriented work culture Schedule: Weekend rotation every other weekend No call responsibilities Work 75% of holidays with opportunity for up to 6 days off (excluding holidays) Orientation and departmental training provided Location Highlights:Nestled in the charming city of Lincolnton, NC, this location offers a welcoming community with accessible amenities and a comfortable lifestyle.
