An opportunity is available for experienced NICU Registered Nurses to provide specialized care in a Level III and/or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting. This contract role is based in Morganton, North Carolina, offering a consistent night shift schedule with the option to flex to additional shifts as needed. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in the NICU, adhering to established clinical guidelines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. Monitor and manage life-support equipment and medical devices routinely used in a Level III/IV NICU. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical records system, preferably Meditech. Participate in unit-based education, compliance, and quality assurance activities. Ensure adherence to required certifications and licensing standards at all times. Qualifications Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina (State or Compact License) is mandatory. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required. Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience, preferably in Level III or IV care settings. Experience with Meditech electronic medical records preferred. Reliable attendance with a willingness to work a 3x12-hour night shift schedule (19:0007:00), with minimum every other weekend coverage (Friday-Sunday). Ability to provide all necessary documentation as requested, including current NURSYS report and Qualivis Cover Sheet. Schedule Night shift: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts per week, with the option to work a 4th shift if available. Overtime eligible after 48 hours. Blocked schedule requests will be considered.
