As part of our dedicated team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, and providing exceptional service to our clients. Our drivers are the face of McLane Company to many of our customers and play an integral role in building and maintaining relationships. At McLane, we empower our drivers with comprehensive training, support our drivers’ wellness, and ensure they operate within all safety standards. Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver grocery and foodservice products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods. Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure. Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Report any incidents or deviations from routes as well as any useful information from customers to management. Handle paperwork, such as receipts or delivery confirmation notices, accurately and in a timely manner.
