As a CDL A Route Delivery Driver, you will ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of products to our customer locations. Operating from over 80 distribution centers nationally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability that McLane is known for. With your dedication to safety and service, you'll help us serve a variety of businesses, from convenience stores to major chain restaurants. Safely operate a tractor/trailer to transport products to customer locations in a timely manner. Inspect vehicle for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance as needed. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions from the dispatch team. Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately. Manage documentation associated with freight, accurately and completely including invoices, bills of lading, and other necessary records. Proven work experience as a truck driver. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.). Strong organizational and time management skills.
