This position is crucial for ensuring the timely delivery of grocery and foodservice products to a variety of clients including convenience stores, mass merchants, drug stores, and chain restaurants. As part of our transportation team, you will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer to deliver products safely and efficiently, managing load secures, and maintaining accurate delivery logs. This role requires compliance with all safety and DOT regulations. Ideal candidates will be committed to maintaining McLane's high standards of service and safety. Operate a tractor-trailer truck to make scheduled deliveries of products. Check vehicle for safety issues and ensure preventive maintenance is performed. Plan route logistics to maximize efficiency and delivery performance. Load and unload cargo, maintaining safety and integrity of the freight. Maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours in compliance with federal and company regulations. Provide excellent customer service during delivery, addressing and rectifying customer concerns. Collect and verify delivery instructions from dispatch and managers.
