A Special Education Teacher position is available to provide focused academic and behavioral support for a 5th-grade student in a school located in Hephzibah, GA. This role requires a highly skilled and patient educator who can address significant physical aggression while fostering the students academic growth, particularly in reading. Key Qualifications and Experience: Must hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certification (GaPSC) and Elementary Special Education Certification. Experience working with students exhibiting physically aggressive behaviors. Strong background in special education with a focus on individualized instruction. Ability to collaborate closely with paraprofessional staff. Commitment to maintaining a structured and supportive learning environment. Location: On-site position at an elementary school in Hephzibah, GA. Responsibilities: Provide individualized academic instruction and behavioral support for a high-functioning, verbal 5th-grade student with physical aggression. Develop and implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors effectively. Collaborate with a dedicated paraprofessional assigned to the student. Participate in training sessions, including restraint training offered by the district if needed. Maintain regular communication with school staff and stakeholders regarding student progress.
