Radiology Tech Location: Augusta, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,035 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiology Technician Specialty: Imaging Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: ARRT Radiography Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Must-Have: - Must exhibit excellent communication skills. - Ability to function independently and under pressure while participating in a team environment. - Excellent customer service skills. - Ability to prioritize appropriately. - Detail-oriented with the capability to multitask. - Professional interaction skills with various customers, including patients, families, and colleagues. Description: Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams according to procedures. Has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain quality diagnostic studies. Responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment. Able to independently perform job functions. Sets up equipment to provide imaging services and positions patients for procedures. Acts as a clinical coordinator for imaging students. Fills out student rotation evaluations honestly and ethically. Ability to provide constructive criticism to students during their rotation. Functions as a clinical instructor for students rotating through the department. Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses for contraindicating conditions. Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media. Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification. Reviews radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients. Responds to emergency situations and provides for the maintenance of life support equipment. Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed. Observes patient condition and evaluates situations when physician intervention is necessary. Verifies patient identifiers and correct clinical order prior to performing procedures. Respects patient privacy and comfort. Demonstrates competence in determining and applying appropriate procedures based on patient age. Organizes schedule and activities to accomplish required tasks within designated time frames. Follows physician instructions when assisting with procedures. Uses critical thinking skills and seeks clarification on ambiguous orders. Understands and documents the pre-procedural verification process. Prepares patients for procedures and demonstrates understanding of sterile techniques. Maintains competency with venipuncture, where applicable. Adjusts technique to minimize patient exposure to ionizing radiation while maintaining image quality. Reports equipment malfunctions to a supervisor or service provider. Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment in accordance with infection control policies. Ability to operate all radiographic equipment safely and competently. Patiently and clearly explains the purpose and nature of exams to patients to minimize anxiety. Ensures patient questions and concerns are addressed satisfactorily. Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees. Provides patients with preparatory instructions and explanations of procedures. Ensures documentation is concise, legible, and uses precise terminology. Reads daily emails and follows through with assignments. Completes mandatory education without prompting. Consistently produces high-quality images ensuring proper technique selection. Checks equipment for calibration and operating deficiencies before use. Sends all studies to the appropriate systems; ensures exams are complete and accurately labeled. Restocks linens and supplies, maintaining clean and orderly conditions. Transports and positions patients as necessary. Performs patient charging activities on the day services are rendered. Applies shielding and immobilization devices. Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others to ensure efficient departmental operations. Maintains productivity and Joint Commission standards. Ability to transfer/retrieve images on the appropriate imaging system. Takes call when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
