Job Description Job Description Title Assembly Mechanic Reports To Operations Manager Summary The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for assembling mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications of the production line within our manufacturing facility. Position Requirements High School Diploma or GED 1-2 years mechanical assembly experience Basic English reading skills - must be able to follow directions and read product and part specifications Some technical or vocational training preferred Ability to pass ruler test Key Responsibilities Assembly Processes Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, schematic specifications, and parts lists. Gathers relevant parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials per instructions. Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, and fastening parts and subassemblies. Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. Troubleshooting Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources as needed. Identifies faulty components during the assembly process and ensures functionality before proceeding. Preventive Maintenance & Safety Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs as needed. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, including the proper use of PPE. Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results and minimize waste. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Contributes to team effort by pitching in to accomplish production goals as needed. Traits & Distinguishing Characteristics Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Regularly lift 30-50 pounds Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately and perform repetitive tasks Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
