Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Description: Minimum Experience: 2 years; 1st Timers are accepted Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics Certifications Required: BLS and ACLS General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: Circulate procedures, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring Ratio / Census: 3 Rooms with 5 Beds; Average daily census of 8-10 Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR Scrub Color: Provided by the facility RTO: MAX 7 days Weekends: Every third weekend Floating: Not specified but always a possibility to float to sister campus – Piedmont Eastside South Call Requirements: 10 call days/month Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major Holidays are listed below: New Year’s Eve and Day: Wednesday, December 31 and Thursday, January 1 Memorial Day: Monday, May 26 Independence Day: Friday, July 4 Labor Day: Monday, September 1 Thanksgiving/Black Friday: Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 Christmas Eve and Day: Wednesday, December 24 and Thursday, December 25 Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule. Locals Accepted As a Cath Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in our cardiac catheterization laboratory, supporting physicians in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. You will work as part of a highly skilled team, directly assisting with minimally invasive procedures and ensuring optimal patient care throughout. This is a dynamic and demanding role, requiring a strong commitment to patient safety, technical expertise, and teamwork. Responsibilities: Assist physicians with invasive cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing sterile equipment, monitoring vital signs, and anticipating needs. Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests as instructed by physicians. Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, ensuring its functionality and sterility. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications as directed by physicians. Monitor patient responses to procedures and document observations accurately. Assist with patient positioning and comfort during procedures. Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all safety protocols. Educate patients about procedures and post-procedural care. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Stay up-to-date on advances in cardiac technology and best practices. Qualifications: Associate degree in Cardiac Catheterization Technology or a related field. Certification in Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a cath lab setting. Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Proficient in sterile technique and infection control procedures. Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
