Georgia-Pacific's Building Products Engineering group is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Regional Project Manager role supporting the Gypsum division. Reporting to our Headquarters located in Atlanta, GA, the individuals in these roles will lead of team of project resources based at various operating facilities within the Western region while also managing several projects (development thru execution). This role can be home-based, or facility based. This position will oversee the Western region. This role will require, on average, 35% -50% travel, depending on project complexity with more expected during construction and start-up. What You Will Do Regional Project Managers work with the division team in Atlanta and lead their project teams in the development and implementation of projects using the multi-phase Georgia-Pacific Capital Project Work Process. This position is responsible for leading and developing a team for the implementation of multiple, concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on-time, on budget and on strategy. Typical projects for your team will be in the $100K - $3mm range. As a Regional Project Manager within the Gypsum Division, this position will: - Manager - Develop and lead a group of Project Engineers/Managers in professional growth, review project status, coach and mentor the team, review designs, and assign projects.
- Leadership - Technical coach to project teams, partner with operations leadership to ensure desired business objectives are achieved, increase Principle Based Management - understanding across project teams, leverage Risk Management capabilities, emphasize safety, environmental, and stewardship commitments. Develop investment proposals, Scopes of Work, estimates, execution plans, and related materials.
- Organize and execute design, construction/installation, commissioning, start-up, and documentation activities, project cost tracking and reporting, and other projects as defined in Scope of Work and project justification proposal.
- Lead multi-discipline teams, external engineering firms, vendors.
- Manage project schedule and track progress.
- Ensure capable field technical support and construction management resources and systems are in place to drive project success and EH&S excellence.
- Partner closely with financial analysts, purchasing, and procurement resources.
- Interact as required with accounting, legal, and other corporate capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external safety and environmental standards and practices.
- Utilize GP project tools: Ecosys, ARIBA, MP2, BUILD, etc. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or technical field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing industry
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience successfully leading and implementing engineering projects
- Experience with MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, & Word
- Experience with Mechanical and Process Engineering concepts and applications in a manufacturing environment
- Project Scoping, Project cost estimation, Project scheduling experience
- Project involvement from development through completion
- Willing and able to travel as required.
