License: Florida State or compact license required at the time of submission. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: EPIC experience required. First-timers not accepted. Ratios are 1:5. Weekend requirement: every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period. On-call requirement: No. Float required: Yes, travelers will float to other units or locations as needed. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Pending license not accepted. Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers. Description: Experience with telemetry and cardiac telemetry nursing is preferred. Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census averages 34 patients. Patient diagnoses include chest pain, sepsis, chronic heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and atrial fibrillation. Nursing duties include care of ventilated patients and post-operative care for cardiac and neurological surgeries. Responsibilities also encompass administering chemotherapy and managing infusions. Nurses will be involved in monitoring vital signs and interpreting dysrhythmias. The unit provides interdisciplinary support with various healthcare services. A comprehensive understanding of isolation precautions and wound care techniques is expected. Candidates should be prepared for diverse nursing challenges in a dynamic environment. Two recent references from authority figures are required. A flu vaccine is mandatory during the specified time frame with medical or religious exemptions only.
