Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Unit Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,542 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: CVOR RN Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute CVOR setting License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years current experience in an acute CVOR setting - ACLS and BLS certifications Description: The unit consists of 2 surgical suites. Staffing varies based on surgical volume, typically including 2 RNs and 2 Techs on day shift. On night shifts, staff is on-call. The patient ratios are 2:1. The unit uses open heart instrumentation, TEE equipment, and ultrasound. Documentation is performed using a specified system. On-call responsibilities are required approximately every other day and every other weekend. The typical procedures include CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker insertions, laser lead extractions, thoracic procedures, endovascular procedures, standby for TVAR, and mitral clips. Experience in minimally invasive cardiac procedures is preferred. RNs may also provide lunch relief in other service lines such as vascular, robotics, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery. Cardiovascular RNs are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health care services for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. They ensure that sterile procedures are followed throughout surgery and that necessary equipment and medications are available for the operating room team. They also record progress and outcomes of surgical procedures and ensure proper handling of specimens. Quality control and patient safety are priorities at all times.
