This critical role focuses on optimizing patient flow within the ED to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care. The coordinator will collaborate with medical staff and management to ensure that patient care is seamless and timely, leveraging both clinical expertise and strategic planning skills in a fast-paced environment. Assess and monitor patient flow throughout the ED, identifying and addressing bottlenecks in real-time. Collaborate with ED staff and physicians to implement best practices for patient throughput. Coordinate patient assignments and bed management effectively to minimize wait times. Implement improvement strategies for patient intake and discharge processes. Participate in daily huddles and multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient care and throughput issues. Develop training programs for staff on ED flow management. Analyze throughput data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards related to emergency care.
