HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Mother Baby unit. As part of our dedicated team, you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of HCA Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a profound commitment to supporting both newborns and mothers during their postpartum period. This role requires a thorough knowledge of maternal-child health, excellent communication skills, and an ability to deliver educational support to families during this joyous, yet critical time. Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for the mother and baby unit, ensuring each family's postpartum needs are met with empathy and efficiency. Monitor maternal physical condition, including managing pain levels and verifying medications are administered correctly and promptly. Provide newborn care including basic health assessment, monitoring for any signs of complications, and educating parents about newborn care and feeding techniques. Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for both mother and child. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of patient medical histories and observation outcomes. Educate and support postpartum mothers about various topics including breastfeeding, maternal mental health, and newborn care.
