The -Associate Patient Care Coordinator -is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions. This primary role provides front office support functions. -
Schedule: -Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Location: 787 Cortaro Dr Ruskin, FL 33573
Primary Responsibilities:


    Provide exceptional service to all customers
    Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
    Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification and copy required documents
    Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
    Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
    Processes walk-in patients and visitors
    Uses, protects, and discloses patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
    Answers phones and schedules appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
    Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
    Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
    Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc
    Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicating pertinent information to patients and ensuring all patients have been assisted
    Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
    Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
    Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
    Performs all other related duties as assigned

        High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
        2+ years of customer service experience -
        1+ years of medical office experience -
        Intermediate level of proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Office Applications

        Preferred Qualifications

          Previous medical office experience
          Knowledge of medical coding
          Demonstrated clerical skills (typing, filing, telephone courtesy)
          Knowledge of business office operations and basic bookkeeping principles
          Knowledge of HIPAA regulations -
          Working knowledge of ECW
          Bilingual English and Spanish

          The salary range for this role is $16.00 -to $28.85 -per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
