CEC Motor and Utility Services has a vacancy for an experienced and skilled Pump & Electric Motor Mechanic at our Palmetto, FL Service Center. This is a full-time job that requires disassembling, troubleshooting, fixing, and testing pumps, AC and DC motors, and controls. A progressive individual with the capacity to service, rebuild, and check pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, and gearboxes is desired. Mastery of electrical testing equipment is also essential for efficient troubleshooting of pumps and motors. Responsibilities: --- Disassemble, test, and repair pumps, motors, generators, and gearboxes as needed. --- Keep the work area clean and orderly. --- Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. --- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about within the shop to gather materials. --- Constantly place and position small and large parts and materials during the diagnostic and repair process. --- The ability to observe details at close range. --- Frequently moves material weighing up to 50 pounds across the shop for various needs. --- Occasionally may be asked to perform other functions not particularly addressed in this posting. Qualifications: --- High school graduate or equivalent. --- 3 years of electric motor and pump repair experience (Preferred). --- Have 3-5 years of experience dismantling, balancing, testing, and troubleshooting electric motors and generators, AC or DC. --- Applicant should be familiar with surge testing, hi-pot testing, use of megger, drop voltage tests, AC/DC theory, and AC and DC electric motor connections. --- Filling and filing paperwork are required. --- Valid Florida driver's license. --- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. --- Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds without difficulty. --- Must be dependable. Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
