Our Enterprise Monitoring and Observability team is on a mission to reduce the total number of outages and the mean time to resolution (MTTR) across the enterprise. We are looking for a talented and passionate Observability Architect who can help us achieve this goal by designing and implementing observability solutions that enable proactive and efficient monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting of complex systems and applications.What you will be doing:As an Observability Architect, you will be responsible for the following: - Define and implement the observability strategy and roadmap for the enterprise, aligned with the business objectives and the IT architecture vision.
- Design and develop observability solutions using industry best practices and standards, such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Elastic, etc.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the observability engineers and developers, ensuring the quality and consistency of the observability solutions. This is while executing hands-on and having responsibility for delivery.
- Collaborate with the IT stakeholders, such as application owners, developers, operations, security, and governance teams, to understand their observability needs and requirements, and provide them with the appropriate solutions and tools.
- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging observability technologies and tools, and conduct proof of concepts and pilots to assess their feasibility and value.
- Establish and enforce observability standards, policies, and best practices across the enterprise, and ensure compliance with the regulatory and security requirements.
- Provide observability training, coaching, and mentoring to the IT staff, and promote the observability culture and mindset across the organization.
- Analyze and report on the observability metrics and KPIs, and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.What you will need:To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- At least 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of experience in observability, monitoring, or related domains.
- Deep expertise and hands-on experience in observability and monitoring technologies and tools, such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Elastic, etc.
- Strong knowledge and experience in cloud-based architecture, especially AWS, Azure, or GCP. AWS Solutions Architect certification or Azure Solutions Architect certification would be a definite plus.
- Hands-on expertise with Python is necessary, strong preference for JavaScript. Familiarity with Go/Rust/other programming languages would be welcome.
- Experience in designing and implementing observability solutions for complex, distributed, and microservices-based systems and applications.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture and familiarity with key design patterns and paradigms.
- Experience in working with DevOps, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Added bonus if you have:
- AWS Solutions Architect certification or Azure Solutions Architect certification would be a definite plus.
- Exposure to financial services technologies and domain knowledge is a plus.
