Pay Rate: $15.00/hr Position Overview This position is responsible for shearing, bending and banding rebar and other structural concrete accessories. Rebar (short for reinforcing bar) is a steel bar or mesh of steel wires used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures to strengthen and aid the concrete under tension. This product is commonly used throughout residential and commercial construction. Essential Job Duties - Review inventory levels of straight and pre-bent rebar.
- Read and interpret sales and/or production orders for rebar and determine components and quantities needed. May also contribute to determining inventory needs to fill future orders.
- Measure straight bar for shearing.
- Bend straight bar into rebar components such as, hoops, column dowls and other component shapes.
- Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
- Complete training and be able to operate all equipment necessary to the rebar assembly process.
- May perform other special projects.
- Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
- Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety procedures; maintain a safe environment.
- Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized.
- Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment.
- Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
