USNAVSO Subject Matter Expertat SMX(View all jobs) (https://www.smxtech.com/careers/) Jacksonville, FL SMX is seeking a Senior USNAVSO Subject Matter Expert to support our customer located at Mayport Naval Station, Florida. The qualified candidate will be responsible for interfacing directly with the Government customer at their onsite facility. Candidate will be responsible for documenting customer requirements, conducting market research for potential requirement solutions, execute contracting actions, and coordinating logistics with subcontractors and cross-functional teams to address autonomous mission sets in the SOUTHCOM AOR. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively. They must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions in ambiguous conditions to meet mission deadlines. The successful candidate must be a self-starter that needs minimal supervision. This position requires a DoD security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on a DoD contract. Essential Duties & Responsibilities -
Develop plans for Government implementation to shape the environment to achieve customer objectives and support affiliated component units, governmental organizations, and partner nation missions in the SOUTHCOM AOR -
Provide inputs into customer working groups and exercises and identify areas to implement innovative uncrewed vehicles and technologies. Plan clear path forward with customer and engineering teams for autonomous operations in support of Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) -
Interface with Government customer and execute logistics planning and contracting actions with subcontractors in support of technical testing, exercises, and operational activities within the SOUTHCOM AOR -
Schedule, secure, and setup meeting locations, communications, and integration support of various innovative naval based uncrewed technologies to achieve customer mission intentions -
Assist in conducting contracting actions, planning, and negotiating procurements for systems, programs, or projects. Provide advice to customers on appropriate acquisition approach necessary to obtain services or supplies -
Collect and analyze relevant market research information from Government and non-government sources to facilitate acquisition planning. Prepare Statements of Work and determine key performance indicators for measuring cross-functional team and subcontractor performance -
Provide project assessment and facilitation executing an MDA special project, assess the risk, cost, and work required to achieve it, then facilitate and oversee the engineering teams to completion. Identify and advise customer on technical constraints and alternate planning -
Execute project tracking through clear and concise status and time management reports; proactively identify potential issues and track project member progress against commitments. Recommend improvements, cost saving initiatives, and substitutions to positively impact current and future project budget and schedule -
This position will require some travel Required Skills & Experience -
Required clearance: Secret upgradeable to TS/SCI -
Experience in providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations for aircraft and uncrewed vehicle mission and program challenges -
10+ years of experience in logistics/contracting in support of the US government. Experience working on component, combatant command, or embassy staff -
2+ years of experience supporting planning and operations in the SOUTHCOM AOR Desired Skills & Experience |
