Civil -Estimator -in the Plant City area.CIVIL ESTIMATOR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with types of projects to bid as well as the strategies and techniques to implement.
• Formulate estimates and resolve issues not resolved by the estimating staff.
• Interface with company senior management and other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.
• Participate in presentations to corporate management and clients. Manage existing clients' needs in reference to preliminary budgeting resulting in negotiated work.
• Assistance during estimating phases per clients' needs.
• Assistance in negotiating value engineering, contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required.
  • Review all final estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation/submittal.
  • Create new processes and or methods/techniques proprietary to the Company.
  • Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.
  • Estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
  • Improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
  • Assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.CIVIL ESTIMATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Some Travel required.
    • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a combination of education and experience.
