What does a Home Health Nurse do?Home Health Nurses provide a variety of tasks during patient visits depending on the specific plan of care and type of patient. Some tasks include: Acute & chronic disease state managementMedication managementCondition assessmentTailored, goal-oriented treatment plansPost-surgical rehabilitationPatient and caregiver educationPain managementWound care What are the qualifications for a Home Health Nurse?Graduate of an approved school of nursingStrong assessment and care planning skillsAbility to delegate care appropriately and supervise Licensed Practical Nurses Do you need home health care experience to be a Home Health Nurse?Previous home health experience is not required. Ask us about our preceptorship where you will gain experiential training under the supervision of an enthusiastic role model. Do Home Health Nurses work alone?Home Health Nurses are autonomous, but they are not alone. All field staff work with supportive clinical supervisors, and the RN is a vital part of the collaborative clinical team.
