About The Position Job Title: OR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: Full-Time Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Complete AORN's Periop 101 class upon hire. Description: The OR Registered Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The OR Registered Nurse acts as a patient advocate. The OR Registered Nurse provides support, information, and direct care while utilizing equipment and technology skillfully. The OR Registered Nurse is technically competent in nursing procedures. The OR Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution, and delivery of medications may be required. May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy. Scheduled off at least three holidays per year. Required to work weekends as per unit needs. Expected to work overtime occasionally. Full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period and part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period are eligible for benefits.
