Chemours is seeking an Americas Senior Business Director to join our growing Thermal and Specialized Solutions team! This position will report directly to the President - Thermal and Specialized Solutions at our Wilmington, DE location. The Thermal and Specialized Solutions Americas Sr. Business Director is responsible for the development and execution of the business leadership of the Opteon--- and Freon--- product lines for the Americas region (North America and Latin America). The product lines include, but not limited to stationary refrigeration and air conditioning/heat pumps, auto air conditioning, foam blowing agents, specialty propellants and fire extinguishments. This also includes business development for indirect and non-buying accounts in our TSS Americas portfolio. The successful candidate will lead a team of 3 direct reports (+/- 65 indirect) consisting of the sales, marketing, training and product management functions for the region. This team is set up to achieve our growth targets and is responsible for all commercial activities which includes sales management and execution, value proposition development, market segmentation, pricing strategies, communications strategies, (new) business development, product commercialization and managing all selling expense and administration cost. You will develop an in-depth knowledge/understanding of the market, including regional and global regulations that impact the industry, incumbent products & technologies, market sizes, market trends, channels, key customer/value chain needs, industry codes, standards, and competitive landscape to be effective in this role. You also works closely with various functional teams such as technical service team and our regulatory/governmental affairs teams; and equipment manufacturers, channel partners, and end-use customers, to support the growth of existing products as well as commercialization and qualification of new products. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Drive strong customer centricity across all TSS segments and sales execution to meet top-line revenue objectives; and to ensure efficient cash collection.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies and business development for all market segments to deliver growth
- Execute strong product management principles which include product cost management; floor pricing and variable margin maximization, quota management, quality management, and new product commercialization.
- Build strong relationships across the value chain to create new demand for our products
- Lead the commercial organization embodying the Chemours values and create a culture of diversity, inclusion & equity, making Chemours the greatest place to work
- Develop a strong winning and collaborative team by using our talent practices effectively
The following is required for this role: - 15+ years of experience with business leadership and/or customer-facing roles
- Great leadership skills, good at giving and receiving feedback and building a highly collaborative culture
- Proven ability to understand and assimilate new technologies, products, processes, to quickly respond to changing market and competitive landscape.
- Demonstrated communication skills - ability to present information and ideas in an articulate and organized way to a variety of internal and external audiences
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills to drive programs to completion, take initiative, overcome obstacles, find creative solutions, set priorities, and deliver against goals.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time. While most of the focus will be in North America, travel will also include Canada, Mexico, and South America
